Ever since the third Avengers instalment wrapped up in cinemas after July, fanatics of the Marvel franchise have been eagerly following the developments of the fourth film. With teases and cryptic clues surfacing online over the new film, we now have more details.

Revealed during a live-streamed Q&A session with co-director Joe Russo, it has been rumoured that Avengers 4 will run for three hours. The run-time has not been confirmed as the team are still in the editing process, but it would make it the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, trumping Infinity War at 160 mins.

“The running time on Avengers 4 is currently sitting right at three hours. We’ll see if that holds. We’re about halfway through the editing process. We’re really just scratching the surface on our VFX shots. There are more than 3,000 VFX shots in the movie; those require a lot of time and thought and energy and effort, and we’re very early in the phase of getting VFX done. We’ve just started work with Alan Silvestri on the score, and we’re still editing picture at this point.”

Other details surrounding the film, including the title remain a mystery.

“Avengers 4” is set to land in cinemas from May 3, 2019. Stay tuned.
