When all you can do is dream of travel and going somewhere slightly more remote than Daylesford, a suitcase that comes straight out of a neon-lit fantasy could be the best way to scratch that itch. Rimowa, the original designers of polycarbonate suitcases loved by the style set, have done exactly that with their new Essential Neon series.

Call it a promise of brighter days to come, the Essential Neon series takes the iconic Rimowa grooves and smoothe corners and reimagines it in transparent pink and lime casing. The black framework forming the interior architecture and black accents add a nice industrial touch like the inside of a club. If you’ve never been to Berghain, this could be as close as you may get for a while.

This latest offering joins the ranks of the German brand’s historic run on see-through accessories. Back in 2018, a collaboration with Off-White celebrating Rimowa’s 120th anniversary included a line of see-through equipment for the modern traveller.

Even if you’re only going to travel as far as the local day spa, this is the only piece of luggage you’ll find yourself needing. But when we are again able to hit that airline lounge bar and settle into a 16 hour flight to Somewhere, you’ll be two steps ahead of everyone else at the carousel. When it comes to packing, size definitely matters, and the Essential Neon Cabin packs a good week’s worth of kit with ease. Inside you’ll find two U-zip mesh compartments to keep your gear in safe, folded order while in transit and minimise the need for laundry service once you arrive at your destination.

Predicting the need for those whose equilibrium rests on sets, you can also invest in a matching iPhone case in the same translucent pink or lime. Designed for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, even if you’ve packed your luggage away you can still have the best looking accessory past check-in.

Starting mid-July, 2021, the Rimowa Essential Neon Cabin in Pink and Lime will be available exclusively online at rimowa.com.
