Helping you achieve peak suaveness is British resort and swim label Orlebar Brown who just dropped their latest Bond-themed capsule, this time celebrating the 40th anniversary of the the 1983 masterpiece, Octopussy.
In the tradition of Orlebar Brown, the collection is a complete head-to-toe, pool to piano bar offering that includes the iconic Bulldog silhouette swimwear, Tees, signature Terry towelling shirting and silk polos across which are printed variations of the 007 Bond motifs (including an unused movie logo) and the iconic Octopussy “octopus” artwork created by Maciek Piotrowski.
A standout from the collection, perhaps because in this humble writer’s opinion encapsulates the aesthetic of Ian Fleming’s famous character, is the jacquard swimshorts and matching silk polo. It’s the kind of subtle mono-styling power move that was Bond’s signature look. Regardless of whether you’re a Connery Bond or a Craig Bond or a Moore Bond.
The partnership between Orlebar Brown and Bond goes back to 2018 and has included designs and concepts from films Dr. No, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, and Live And Let Die. It’s a partnership that is an extension of the Bond cinematic universe, where a white Orlebar Brown Tee was was worn by the most recent actor to portray the spy, Daniel Craig, in No Time To Die.
