There’s no doubt that we all frothed over the wave of “chunky sneakers” that took the streets in 2018. Every brand from high-street to luxury battled over creating the ugliest sneaker, adding OTT colour, embellishments and odd shapes, however as we move towards the end of the year, people are transgressing to something slightly more wearable. Leading the pack towards the era of “normcore” again, Jimmy Choo have created a line of refined chunky sneakers – a high-class adaption of the infamous trend.

Inspired by the form of diamonds, Jimmy Choo have drawn design cues for a chunky platform sole, clear, and reminiscent to the original Nike Air VaporMax. More maximalist in its execution however, the UK-based fashion house has looked to the vintage racing shoe for a refined and clean upper making for a perfect balance of trend and longevity. The Diamond Sneakers also boast functionality, providing key flex points allowing for movement while still keeping a sturdy structure.

Available in seven colourways, the collection boasts tonal leather and metallic variations contrasted with technical mesh. Having just dropped, the Jimmy Choo Diamond Sneakers are now available in-stores and online. Watch the campaign video below for a closer look at the latest design.
