I’m not going to lie, after the past presidential debates with Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and the ‘fly incident’ with Mike Pence and Kamala Harris, I forgot about Kanye West’s bizarre campaign. Amid fraud accusations, mental health episodes and unpopularity among fellow celebrities, the rapper and designer is continuing his crusade to become the unlikely US Vice President.

Overnight, West released a campaign advertisement to his 40 million followers urging people to strengthen their religion and put faith in the country (the latter could be hard). At just 82 seconds long, images show ‘Ye in front of a black and white American flag as well as footage of himself as a child and other families praying.

“America. What is America’s destiny? What is best for our nation? Our people? What is just? True justice? We have to think about all these things together as a people. To contemplate our future, to live up to our dream, we must have vision. We as a people will revive our nation’s commitment to faith, to what our constitution calls the free exercise of religion, including, of course, prayer,” he said. “Through prayer, faith can be restored.”

The video ends with an “I am Kanye West and I approve this message”.

In select ballots around the country, West appears as candidate for Vice President under Roque “Rocky De La Fuente Guerra, an American businessman and politician from San Diego. The 2020 Election will take place on November 3.
