Rapper and producer Post Malone has shared what has gone into the dramatic physical transformation that saw him loose up to 30 kilograms in almost record time. According to the 28-year-old, all he had to do was cut out a particular vice and the kay gees started to literally fall off his frame.
The vice in question: soft drink. Fizzy drinks.
Malone shared this tip while appearing on podcast The Joe Rogan Experience earlier this month. During the interview Malone said that “soda [soft drink] is so bad. It’s so good, but it’s so bad.”
Malone’s weight loss had drawn concern from fans of the performer who were worried that his slimmed-down frame was due to something more sinister. Some were even worried that they would lose Malone to the infamous 27 Club of celebrities who died at the age of 27 – some of which Malone has tattooed on his body.
But if we are to take Malone for his word, it’s all due to getting rid of the sugar-loaded drinks and taking better care of his diet.
Malone isn’t the only person to discover that the sweet sticky goodness of soft drink is perhaps a contributing factor to unhealthy weight.
TikTok content creator Rohit Roy gained a cult following of supporters for his daily documentation of “no fizzy drinks today”. When Roy did have an occasional setback and succumbed to his favourite tipple, the Internet rallied behind him.
Malone did admit that every now and then, if he has a good show or just feels like a treat, he does still have a bubbly one. Like all things in life, moderation is key. Including fizzy drinks.
