After almost a decade of talk for the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, the film has finally been produced, leading to the release of its first trailer by 20th Century Fox. Staring Rami Malek as Queen’s lead singer, Freddie Mercury, the new film looks into the making and inner workings of one of most the iconic ’70s bands. Featuring your favourite songs including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘We Will Rock You’.

According to the synopsis, “The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.”

Produced by Graham King, Bohemian Rhapsody ends just after the LiveAid performance, missing Freddie Mercury’s private battle with AIDS before he died in 1991.

The biopic will arrive in cinemas on November 2, and will also star Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee (as Brian May), Ben Hardy (as Roger Taylor), Joseph Mazzello (as John Deacon), Aiden Gillen, Tom Hollander and Mike Meyers. Watch the trailer below.
