This week it was confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Foxx would appear in Spider-Man 3. Now following a slew of rumours, reports are suggesting that past Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return to their roles for the first live-action Spider-Verse.

First reported by FandomWirea close source has confirmed the actors will play Peter Parker alongside current neighbourhood hero, Tom Holland, though nothing has been officially announced from any management yet. Not much else is know about the film including its names, but further reports believe that it will be Doctor Strange who brings the three characters together to defeat a common enemy.

In addition, it is also believed that several past enemies will make a return including Kraven the Hunter, Scorpion, Electro and the Green Goblin. And with the entry of the Green Goblin, it could usher in a fresh introduction of Oscorp and Nick Fury’s galactic version of S.H.I.E.L.D., known as S.W.O.R.D.

At the helm is Sony, not Marvel, which is important to note meaning a fresh slew of franchise films could be on the way. Stay tuned for further developments.
