Calling all Top Gun fanatics, a once in a lifetime opportunity is upon us. Following the auctioning off of the original Maverick’s helmet back in July, the opportunity has arrived to cop Maverick’s original leather bomber jacket, worn by Tom Cruise himself. Featuring the brown fleece collar, rugged and worn leather and iconic patches, this is an auction you don’t want to miss.
According to TMZ, the jacket is valued between $15,000 USD and $21,000 USD. In comparison, the helmet was worth between $50,000 and $70,000 USD. In the bidding world however, the final price is likely to exceed the top value.
The auction will also include other iconic pieces from films including James Bond’s MI6 Training Outfit from Skyfall from $19,000 USD, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber from Revenge of the Sith from $103,000 USD (yes, this would be an amazing flex) and Neo’s complete outfit from The Matrix: Reloaded from $52,000 USD.
Pop culture auctions have been big business in 2020. Earlier this year, Michael Jordan’s ’96 Mercedes-Benz went on the auction block, as did Biggie Smalls’ King of New York crown from his last ever shoot.
