Pre-Fall runways have just begun and following the likes of Dior and Alexander Wang, Italian fashion house Versace made its Pre-Fall 2019 debut earlier this week. With heads turning over its unusual yet welcomed decision to show in New York, there was much to talk about the style on and off the runway.

While front row included a star-studded line up of American A-listers – think Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Teeyana Taylor amongst others – all adorning fluro looks from Versace’s previous season, Donatella made another kind of statement with the nostalgic return of the “Love Versace” print. Inspired by Jim Dine’s designs for Gianni Versace’s New York townhouse, models wore their heart on their sleeve, paying homage to the late founder – and it is something we can all get amongst.

Unlike the bold power-plays that were made at its Spring/Summer 2019 runway, Versace introduced warm tones and monochromatic designs for the new season. With the usual revisit of the classic baroque print that is showcased each season along with animal print, many were mesmerised by the chiffon silhouettes masterfully layered in the abstract heart print. Sending both mens and womenswear down the runway, it proves that men too, can sport the symbol.
