After what can only be described as a moment of fashion history hosting their pre-fall collection in the Egypt capital of Cairo, Dior and creative director Kim Jones are back in Paris for the Dior Winter 2023 menswear collection taking place on Friday January 20 at 2:30pm CET. (That would be Saturday, January 21 at 12.30am for those of us in Australia.)
The last few years, Jones has been delivering successively stronger collections for the men’s line, drawing on inspiration from the archives of the Maison’s founding father Christian Dior himself. This digging into the very bones of the brand has given Jones a chance to extrapolate on the rich dialogue that Dior had crafted for his womenswear, translating that into contemporary masculine codes.
Should the pre-fall collection be any indication on what is to come, Jones has his sights set on the future of menswear even as he continues to uncover the Maison’s rich past to do so.
