For months (no, years) it has been suggested that everybody’s favourite Spider-Man Tom Holland and everybody’s favourite actress Zendaya have had some sort of romantic fling away from the public eye.
If it wasn’t speculations that the two were getting cosy on set of Spider-Man: Homecoming way back in 2017, it was photos of the duo kissing in a car in Los Angeles earlier this year that had the internet in a frenzy.
But now, Hollywood’s newest favourite couple have taken their unofficial relationship to the next level by making it officially ‘official’ at the 2021 Ballon d’Or Awards in Paris earlier this week.

At the night of nights for the footballing world, Zendaya and Tom Holland sure looked the part for their big reveal, stealing most of the limelight away from the Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi. While Holland was seen dressed in his Sunday best, donning a sleek shawl lapel tuxedo and bow tie, Zendaya offered the world yet another stellar look in a vintage Roberto Cavalli dress that gave off serious Doc Ock vibes.
Perhaps a subtle nod to the villain who will be making an appearance in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home instalment?
And on the Hollywood blockbuster, Sony producer Amy Pascal recently announced in an interview that Holland will reprise the role of the web-slinger for another three films, making him the longest-playing Spider-Man in history.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home set to conclude the current trilogy of Holland’s Spider-Man films, it’s confirmed that the 25-year old will return for a future trilogy of Spider-Man movies that will continue to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel — [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” said Pascal.
“We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn’t part of… we’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
Holland also made comment at a recent press tour on French TV show Quotidien, that there are “very, very exciting things” being discussed behind the scenes for his Spider-Man universe.
“I don’t know what those things are or what they will transpire to be, but it looks like it’s an incredibly bright future ahead,” Holland said.
“And, as I’ve said before, Spider-Man will forever live in me.”
Since Holland landed the part almost six years ago, he has played Spider-Man in five movies, four of which have brought home more than a billion dollars each at the box office.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit cinemas on Thursday, 16 December.
