There’s no doubt the world is changing – and with it comes a deeper look into the male beauty space; what’s new, what’s now and what’s next for you and the woman in your life. As she will probably tell you, that laissez-faire approach to your grooming routine is old news. Yes, masculinity is now open for the occasional beauty flex – and if you’re unsure what you need and where to buy them, I think this newsletter is a pretty good place to start.
To kick things off, we’re starting with fragrance – specifically the universally-appealing Hugo Boss. What I personally love about fragrance is that the concept is simple: you love a scent, you wear it, it earns you compliments… and so the cycle continues. Hugo Boss Alive is one of those unicorn scents that strikes the perfect balance between light and shade. The first impression is sweet – an optimistic injection of plum and apple. But give it time and it wears down to the most deliciously rich vanilla base, laced with white flowers (jasmine sambac to be precise) and dry, smoky woods. While it’s balanced enough for year round, the well-rounded sweetness feels just right this winter.

Hugo Boss Boss Bottled Infinite is like an olfactive dichotomy: on one hand, it’s light, zingy and incredibly fresh thanks to a medley of apple, mandarin and sage. But the base is more aromatic – it has a woody, mineral quality that clings to your clothing (even after a heavy wash cycle). Lavender and cinnamon add that “skin but better” quality. Perfection.
