Earlier this year, the watch world descended upon Geneva, Switzerland for the annual industry watch fair, Watches & Wonders. It was a marvellous meet-up of watch aficionados who gathered together to witness the latest novelties from the world’s most luxurious watch brands.

Jaeger-LeCoultre, one of the world’s leading swiss watchmaking brands since 1833, unveiled an absolutely mesmerising collection at Watches & Wonders, one they call ‘The Stellar Odyssey’. This collection, which pays homage to the astronomical phenomena that lie at the origins of time measurement, offered guests an immersive ‘walk through space’ with the celestially-themed timepieces presented within the confines of an in-built galaxy, created by the Manufacture.

Now, you can experience the magic that was unveiled at Watches & Wonders with The Stellar Odyssey set to arrive at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Melbourne and Sydney boutiques this month, for a limited time only.

“This year, the Stellar Odyssey will continue the Manufacture’s journey around the world, sharing not only our creations that are inspired by the celestial theme, but also translating the wonders of the celestial world into art installations and immersive experiences,” said Catherine Rénier, Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO, earlier this year at Watches & Wonders in Geneva.

Over the years, astronomical functions have played a major role in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s portfolio of complicated timepieces – from simple forms of moon phase display like the Master Ultra Thin to highly complex perpetual calendars, sky charts, and even lunar cycles. Master watchmakers at Jaeger-LeCoultre have offered wearers three measures of time – solar, lunar and sidereal – while continuing to innovate and push the boundaries of celestial phenomena.

The Stellar Odyssey brings to life this theme of celestial phenomena and timekeeping in an exciting, experiential way. Throughout 2022, Jaeger-LeCoultre will take The Stellar Odyssey around the world with a touring exhibition and a series of themed events. Now, for the first time, Melbourne watch enthusiasts can experience a hands-on discovery workshop that highlights Jaeger-LeCoultre’s extraordinary celestial-themed collections.

One of the highlights of the exhibition will include your chance to touch and feel the new Rendez-Vous Dazzling Star; an extraordinary watchmaking feat that needs to be held to fully appreciate its capabilities.

More than just a watch, this diamond-encrusted timepiece is the perfect representation of high-watchmaking, as it comes to life on the wrist of its owner who, simply by moving, activates the complication: shooting stars. This whimsical design allows shooting stars to dance across the watch dial, appearing randomly as if by magic, four to six times per hour.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Stellar Odyssey collection will be in Melbourne from 11 – 14 August, followed by Sydney from 17 – 21 August. To make your Melbourne booking, follow this link here.
