The title ‘God is Country’ was first flirted with during an interview with Kanye West in GQ back during April, 2019. And ever since, fans of the lauded rapper have been waiting for a digital follow up of his Sunday Service Choir album, where by the hymns make it to streaming form and according to a new announcement, this could be it.

Over the weekend, ‘Ye begun announcing new projects – including his new YEEZY partnership with Gap – for his namesake ‘West Day Ever’. In a Twitter post, the artist teased the new album God is Country with a fresh single ‘Wash Us in the Blood’. 10 seconds of audio accompanies the track with the full single expected in the next 24 hours.

Unfortunately, anyone who knows of Kanye West well would attest to the fact that the man likes to change his mind. For his most recent albums Ye and Jesus Is King, he long teased the projects with track lists and snippets of music, only to change the work days or weeks later. Kanye West is a perfectionist, but we can only hope this the real deal.

In October 2019, West revealed he would never perform his OG catalogue of music again. “They made movies about Steve Jobs and you gotta understand who I am,” he says. “You don’t walk into an Apple shop and see an iPhone 4.”
