Kawhi Leonard’s latest sneaker proves that all you really need is love – and a popping colourway – when it comes to design.
The LA Clippers star has again teamed up with New Balance to release the KAWHI “Neo Flame”, a buzzing hot pink and roses red basketball sneaker that Kawhi debuted during the NBA All-Star game.
Kawhi and New Balance are snowballing into quite the team, having already dropped the KAWHI x JOLLY RANCHER line in 2020. But Kawhi’s latest sneaker moves away from the rainbow palette that the Rancher line became famous for and is simply available as the Neo Flame.

The sneaker colour-blocks bright reds and pinks throughout its uppers, while the mesh base and any mixed-material overlays are a mix of the two colours. As seen in the JOLLY RANCHER drop, the middle panel’s braided details are divided amongst three different colours.
Kawhi’s latest sneaker was scheduled to drop for the original NBA All-Star Game, which falls on Valentine’s Day (the game was delayed due to COVID), which perhaps explains why the Neo Flame is an ode to love.
The sneaker’s tongue is adorned with a brilliant red love heart, and instead of New Balance’s usual slogan, “The Intelligent Choice”, Kawhi’s latest sneaker read “The Romantic Choice.”
