In a vibrant display of fashion and heritage, 108-year-old New York City eyewear brand Moscot has launched a new limited edition of their Lemtosh Sun, created exclusively crafted for Australia and New Zealand. This release is a celebration of Moscot’s rich history, infusing the renowned Lemtosh frame with a modern twist that appeals to both fashion enthusiasts and eyewear aficionados.
The Lemtosh Sun Australia Limited Edition is a masterpiece of design, featuring a handcrafted Italian acetate frame in Light Grey. The lenses, real glass hand-dipped in Denim Blue, set these sunglasses apart. Available in two sizes, 46 and 49, each pair is uniquely numbered on the temples, signifying its exclusivity in the limited edition series of only 170 pieces.
Zack Moscot, the 5th Generation Chief Design Officer of the brand, expresses his excitement about this launch. He sees it as a way to connect the urban chic of New York’s Lower East Side with the dynamic spirit of Australia. This edition is more than just eyewear; it’s a bridge between two cultures.
Moscot’s origins trace back to the streets of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where Hyman Moscot, the founder, started selling eyeglasses from a pushcart. Today, while recognized globally, Moscot retains its heart as a neighborhood optical shop, combining over a century of eyewear expertise with its distinct downtown New York style.
The Lemtosh frame has earned its place as a symbol of style, worn by renowned personalities like Jacob Elordi, Robert Downey Jr., Simon Baker and Chris Hemsworth. CEO of Proper Goods Benny Walters says that the launch proves Moscot’s commitment to Australian fans, underlining the brand’s respect for the local market and its loyal customers. “We’re thrilled that a global brand such as Moscot has again chosen to champion Australia with the release of a sunglass design made specifically for our local followers. It speaks volumes to their respect for our market and local brand loyalists,” says Walters.
The Lemtosh Sun Limited Edition for Australia and New Zealand is available only at selected retailers, including Island Luxe in Byron Bay, Eyewear Youwear in Sydney, Wink in Melbourne, Optiko in Brisbane, and Eyes of Claremont in Perth.
