It is safe to say that Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is set to be one of the most anticipated film releases of this side of 2019. Following Avengers: Endgame which saw the end of an era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the forthcoming ninth instalment will see the same cinematic event. According to reports however, it is already smashing pre-sale records with the first hour selling 45 percent more tickets than the marvel finale. And while the final trailer to the Star Wars spectacle was released earlier in November, we now have another teaser.

It is only a mere 30 seconds, however it does reveal what appears to be the Knights of Ren. Since Rey’s vision in The Force Awakens, little has been uncovered about the mysterious organisation, except that the six elite warriors are followers of the Dark Side. In the fresh teaser, they are shown dressed in all-black, rusty armour while they survey the surrounding areas. Each knight appears to wear a mask while holding various types of weapons – both long and short-range combat tools.

The whereabouts of the Knights of Ren in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi is still not known though fan theories speculate that they’ve been on a mission on the Outer Rims. Another reddit theory also suggested a potential cross-over with the new Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Yellow bolts from weapons can be seen in the background which is most commonly used with the Mandalorians – this could mean a special cameo.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is slated to drop into cinemas from December 20. Watch the TV spot teaser below.
