Everything
Despite what everyone’s favourite frog, Kermit, said about the difficulties of green it seems Ryan Gosling (with a little help from Gucci) is here to prove him wrong.

Appearing at The Colosseum, Caesars Palace, during CinemaCon over the weekend to promote his upcoming film The Fall Guy, Gosling turned it out in an emerald-hued suit by Gucci, complete with puce shirt and heeled loafers by the Italian house.
Still rocking a deeper than usual tan and some questionable blonde tips (but we don’t hate them), it was a look that can only be described as peak peacocking.
Gucci’s track record for tackling traditionally difficult shades – the shade of pink that former Creative Director Michele Alessandro was fond of was specifically due to its reputation for being somewhat unrefined.

In comparison, green is in turn both sumptuous and garish (there is even a specific shade of green called ‘garish‘). Lush, even, in both senses of the word. Particularly for a suit, where it runs the risk of having like a Dick Tracy-esque vibe. Maybe that’s what Kermit was warning us about…
Gosling’s jewel tone choice works due to the generous cut that adds to the decadence of the colour. This was one thing that Michele understood when it came to his preference for flamboyant dressing – more is more only works when you really take it to the next level. Hence the heeled loafer being the perfect shoe with the almost nude-shade shirt bringing it all back down to earth.

For his part, Gosling is on something of a winning streak (again) with his movie promotional fashion. Just the other week the actor sported appropriate pinks to promote the hotly anticipated movie Barbie with Margot Robbie where he plays “just Ken”.
The Fall Guy, which also stars Emily Blunt and directed by David Leitch, is set to be released in 2024.
