This Friday, June 24, tune into ICON and experience the Dior Men’s Summer 2023 show live at 3pm Paris time – which for us east coast of Australia equates to 11pm that night.
Details around the event – location, concept – remain under tight wraps but Kim Jones has become as known for the theatrical sets as he has for his passion for collaborative design. For the Fall Winter 2022 collection at the maison, Kim Jones created a stage to house the collection, a life-size copy of Pont Alexandre III in a tent on Place de la Concorde, literally minutes away from the real one. For the Resort show, which Jones collaborated with Californian designer Eli Russell Linnetz of ERL, a blue nylon wave on Venice Beach became the backdrop.
Since joining Dior in 2018, Jones has balanced the savoir faire of the maison’s history – the tailoring, with the draping – and interpreting these into today’s sartorial codes. This weaving of heritage and innovation is the blueprint for Dior’s menswear.
