Bringing his sportswear design sensibilities and leadership to Dior, the house’s menswear collections have plenty of street cred’ following Kim Jones‘ appointment to the brand in 2018. Earlier this year, the lauded designer joined forces with the Jumpman brand, Jordan, for a collaborative capsule of apparel and sneakers. Following its overwhelming success, Jones has continued a Dior offering of kicks.

Pulled from the Spring/Summer 2021 men’s collection, the forthcoming styles channel diverse inspirations, from the vintage look of ’80s tennis shoes to the skateboarding universe. Available in low and high-top versions, the colourways cover white, black or gray versions – a subtle tribute to Monsieur Dior’s signature shade – and are embellished with a multi-material finishing, combining smooth calf leather and nubuck with the Dior Oblique jacquard or the Dior Oblique Galaxy, in perforated leather.

Dubbed as the B27 sneakers, the pieces follow the same craftsmanship practices that are seen in all Dior styles – leatherworking, edge dyeing and topstitching – and reflects the exceptional savoir-faire perpetuated by the petites mains in the House’s Italian workshops. Translation: these aren’t just any sneakers.

Finishing details include eyelets shaped after the iconic ‘CD’ logo, while the name ‘DIOR’ is embossed on the heel and inscribed on the sole.

The Dior B27 sneakers will be available in Australian Dior stores from November 6, 2020.
