Saint Laurent’s New Landmark On The Champs-Élysées

Saint Laurent has just opened the doors to its grandest flagship store in Paris on the equally grand Champs-Élysées, a haven of modern luxury and historic elegance designed by Anthony Vaccarello. The boutique’s restored Haussmannian facade leads to an immersive, luminous interior where luxury meets innovation.

Highlights include a neon light sculpture by Cerith Wyn Evans, sleek black-lacquered staircases, and a private garden. The store features an exquisite selection of men’s and women’s fashion, handbags, and jewelry, complemented by Donald Judd’s furniture. This architectural gem offers a unique shopping experience, blending art with fashion. It is, to say the least, the peak of Parisian chic.

Banks Violette’s Dramatic Chandeliers Illuminate Celine Stores

Banks Violette, known for his impactful art in New York’s early 2000s scene, has collaborated with French Maison Celine, bringing his unique aesthetic to their flagship stores. His latest creation, a series of dramatic chandeliers, captures the essence of his dark, theatrical style. These pieces, resembling figures in a state of collapse and revival, reflect Violette’s signature themes of societal pressure and transformation.

Designed for Celine’s reimagined stores, these chandeliers are a fusion of minimalism and deconstruction, echoing the works of Dan Flavin and Sol Le Witt. Violette’s approach anthropomorphises the sculptures, infusing them with a personal, autobiographical element. This collaboration marks a significant moment, blending fashion, retail, and art in a striking display. The chandeliers not only illuminate the stores but also embody the emotional tenor of Violette’s vision, creating an unforgettable retail experience.
