Louis Vuitton has launched a new jewellery line for men, Les Gastons Vuitton, and introduces a new house colour Les Gastons Vuitton Blue, a unique shade developed using titanium, renowned for its strength and lightness.

The new jewellery line takes inspiration from the multifaceted personality of one of the brand’s forebears: Gaston-Louis Vuitton. This grandson of the maison’s eponymous founder was, according to the brand, known for his broad sense of culture and diverse interests and innovative spirit.

A hallmark of the younger Vuitton, who had the luck of being born at just the right time of a time of rapid social changes and invention, was his passion for collecting: art, books, and typography and of course the DNA of the brand, a passion for travel and trunks. A small point of personal pride, he allegedly owned over 175 trunks, hinting at just how deep his love for travel and exploration was. The new line of jewellery pays homage to this, including a new kind of chain: Gourmettes, a reworking of the familiar chain necklace and bracelet something more solid yet fluid that embodies Gaston-Louis’ curiosity and forward-thinking approach.

Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director for Watches and Jewellery at Louis Vuitton, describes the collection as akin to a pair of jeans, becoming more beloved with wear and describes the new Les Gastons Vuitton line as “the denim of jewellery”. This mindset partly inspired the particular shade of blue that has been introduced for the collection.

Innovative techniques, such as laser cutting, bring extreme precision to the Monogram designs, offering a fresh and contemporary feel. The Les Gastons Vuitton line also contains reconceived trunk motifs in their smallest forms, blending silver and diamonds. Materials like yellow and white gold complement the titanium, defining the collection’s unique character.

Interactive jewellery pieces, such as mechanical rings and crafted pendants, reflect Gaston’s inventive streak and habit for sketching everything he came across.
