Earlier this year, the fashion world was overjoyed to learn of the upcoming collaboration between Jacquemus and Nike. The exclusive collaboration became a reality this week, one day after the Jacquemus’ FW22 “LE PAPIER” presentation in France, with the Paris-based label releasing its runway collection as well as a sneak preview of its collaborative capsule with Nike, kick-starting what is hopefully a long collaborative journey together.

But just like that, the collab was a sellout. In minutes, actually.

The collection release was in fact pushed back by almost 30 minutes due to a site crash at the hands of hordes of hype beasts and fashionistas wanting a piece of the Jacquemus x Nike pie, with the swoosh-adorned tennis dresses and Humara sneakers seriously hot property at the drop. Jacquemus also stated via Instagram that their site received 500k-plus interactions during the collection’s initial release time.

Hype at its peak, folks.

But there’s merit behind this collaboration, of course. One, the product offerings are pretty cool. The Humara sneakers are the perfect balance of hike-meets-runway chic, while the Le Bob Buck Hat is a serious contender for the accessory of the summer. Above all, the collection is more than reasonable price-wise, with most items sitting between the $40 – $180 USD mark.

The new collaboration between Nike and fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus was officially introduced by R&B sensation Jorja Smith at the brand’s SS23 show, which was held in the salt marshes of Provence, France. The setting for Jacquemus’ SS23 unveiling was a stark salty background that was reminiscent of a Dune scene, but one which highlighted the new collaboration in all of its chic, minimalist glory.

While the Jacquemus x Nike collection was exclusively available via the Jacquemus’ online store, don’t fret, for the collaborative Humara shoes, flirty sportswear, and accessories are expected to drop on September 10 via the Nike SNKRS platform.
