The house of Tommy Hilfiger is pioneering a new era of Americana style. Off the back of perhaps its best collaborative collection with Lewis Hamilton – albeit, with a sustainable twist – the namesake designer has ushered in its Fall 2020 premium collection. Through the lens of classic staples, the brand honours timeless American craftsmanship, blending coast-to-coast Americana influences with a sense of street-inspired edge.
For men, the season opens with desert-ready designs that play with the tonalities of the chino colour. Two worlds collide as varsity elements are reinvented with a Western twist. As the collection travels through mid-west design, crested buffalo checks, Tommy Hilfiger-red and hunter green plaid lend a rustic, elevated lumberjack vibe – but make it fashion. Sportswear elements are put front and centre as past collections in the form of a referee vertical striped polo, velour and hockey jersey. Suits featuring embroidered crests and houndstooth celebrate Tommy Hilfiger’s unwavering rock-and-roll influence with a elements of refined style.

Similarly, women’s looks take on a American cult classic and boast classic craftsmanship elements such as quilt work, patchwork and stitch detailing. Outerwear silhouettes are reimagined in leather and shearling, as well as a warm colour palette inspired by natural plains and deserts, before continuing to the black and white, gritty city lights of the East Coast. Mid-west details are similar to that of the men, as is a nod to rock-and-roll.
